Giveaway

I have wanted to do a giveaway for awhile now but for the longest time couldn’t decide what I wanted to giveaway. I finally decided on doing a ‘homemade giveaway’. Finally I had decided on what to giveaway now all I had to do was take the pictures. Well this morning I finally got up and shot the photos of what I was wanting to giveaway and now I can give them away….Yea!!

So here's what you will get....

A hat and scarf……I crocheted then, and I absolutely love them! I would keep them for myself, but I would never wear them enough and I would rather give them to one of you to enjoy.

Homemade Salsa…..I have so much of the stuff and I will never get it all ate up, so I thought I would share this with one of you. Everybody that I have shared it with so far has really liked it, so I hope you do too!
A necklace……I made it and think it’s very simple and a lot of fun and I hope one of you enjoys it too!

Finally is this Lindt Dark Chocolate that has pieces of orange and almonds in it. Ok so I didn't make this one, but it is one of my new favorite things. Caleb blames me having a thing for chocolate on his sister Charity, but I blame it on that amazingly wonderful chocolate cake I had made, but Charity was the one who introduced me to this chocolate and it is truly wonderful!!

Even if they aren't something that trips your trigger you can always give them away to someone else. I mean seriously you could get four presents for free how great is that!

So there's an addition to the giveaway. Since I'm getting old and forgetful....ok maybe not old just yet, but for sure fogetful...o-well here's what I'm adding.

Ok, so here's the skinny on the giveaway....

*you must a follower of my blog....all ya have to do is click the follow button on the side panel or click follow at the top of the page. I will however make exceptions for the friends and family members who I know follow regularly.

My Favorite Farmer's Birthday

Today is the Love of my life's birthday, so he is finally as old as I am, thank goodness cause I am tired of hearing how I am this old lady, now he's an old fart too! For his birthday I got him a new pair of extremely awesome mud boots, but I got the wrong style so they are still sitting in the box waiting for the right kind to come in down at the co-op. I also made him his favorite Strawberry Pie, which I am working on getting the post for that up. He has been trying to get sick and unfortunately succeeding at it over the past week, so I also made him a big batch of Homemade Chicken and Noodles. I will have to get a post about that up here one of these days cause it's really easy to make and it's oh soo good.

So in lou of today being my 'Favorite Farmer's Birthday’ I thought I would share some of my most favorite photos from the past year....well actually since July when I got my newest camera.

I know there's a lot I couldn't decide which ones I liked the best, so maybe ya'll can help me decide!

Oh how I love this one...he's wearing one of my favorite shirts and it just makes his beautiful blue eyes just pop!

These are just those fun pictures of when we went fishing, and I caught the bigger fish, and when Caleb decided to play in the Church softball game and woke up the next morning feeling every muscle in his body.

I just love his smile isn't it wonderful!! This is what happens to his hair when he rides a 4-wheeler without a hat...haha. Seriously he's got the kind of hair ever girl would die for....how fair is that! Why is good hair wasted on guys?

Oh just look at that handsome, hardworking man! Don't ask me why, but I just love the ways he smells when he's covered in sweat and grease...call me crazy, but it smells great!
This is the "Seriously Another Photo" picture

There's that smile again....I love black and white photo's

More wonderful smiles. I just can't get enough of them!!

Caleb during one of his favorite times of the year, Corn Harvest, standing next to his favorite new toy. I'm pretty sure he thinks corn harvest should be a national holiday.

I'm pretty sure Caleb would go crazy without his cell phone. He doesn't leave the house without it, me on the other hand, could care less if I have it.
Wait, what happened here.  This is what happens when you give me these funny faces. They go on my blog for the whole world to see...haha....but these funny faces are one of the things I fell in love with two yeas ago. They make me laugh and boy do I love to laugh!

His glasses make me smile and oh how I love pliers!!
I just love this picture. It was a beautiful fall day; you have my favorite farmer in the field lookin' at the beans, and both of the combines runnin' in the back ground.

Once again I love black and white they give such character to a photo!

 This just makes me laugh...hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was one of those beautiful winter days, they were few and far between, when we were out fixin' fence and having a marvelous time doing it.
Black and white, cows, snow, hay and my love really do pictures get much better than this?

There are those beautiful blue eyes that I fell in love with and that wonderful smile!

There are those beautiful blue eyes that I fell in love with and that wonderful smile...hahaha!!!

I just love watching him work....

There's that phone again...what would he do without it?!?!?!
I get this face a lot in my photos. No he's not making a face at the camera, actually he probably doesn't even realize he is making this face, but it's the face you make when you are trying really hard to do something.
There's just something about this one that I just love
This is the "I'm King of the Hay Bale" picture that I just think it great!

I love everything about this photo!!
Once again those wonderful black and white's.

I don't know what it is about this one but I just love it!  Probably it's the black and white, amazing smile combo!

I love his hands, even though I rarely get to see them since he is always wearing his gloves I just love them!

Look at those rough and tough farm hands being so gentle with this newborn little calf....Oh how I love it!

I just took this Monday evening and I just love it! You've got two of my most favorite things my wonderful husband and a beautiful sunset!

So help me out and tell me what ya think of all my 'birthday boy's' photos!

Yummy Yummy, For My Tummy Blackberry Cobbler

One of my all time favorite deserts is blackberry cobbler. Oh just thinking about it makes my mouth water! The great thing about it, is it is so easy to make. So for those of you who are kinda scared to make pies from scratch cause the pie dough scares you then this is the thing for you!

Cobbler Roll Call: Blackberries, Sugar, Butter, and Pie Dough

The recipe calls for a 9x13 pan, and the amounts of sugar and butter I will be for a 9x13 pan. I will be making this in a smaller pan...well because even though Caleb and I could probably eat an entire 9x13 pan full we really don't need to and also because this is a really easy recipe to wing it on.

Start with putting a layer of blackberries (or whatever fruit you want) on the bottom of the pan.

Next sprinkle about 3/4 - 1 Cup of sugar on top (with blackberries and other extra tart fruit make sure to use at least a cup of sugar) If you think it doesn't look like enough sugar then add some more the sweeter the better!!

Next take about 1/2 stick of butter and dot the sugar covered berries with it. There’s no rhyme or reason how to do this. You could make a smiley face with the butter if you really wanted to.

Doesn't that look soo deliciously good!!!  I am a huge fan of real butter, its about all I use when cooking, and when you pare it with sugar then you know it's got to be good!! (If you don't want to use real butter, don't have it, then use whatever 'wets your whistle' cause when your making it then it's about what you like not what I like, but if you want to share it I won't say no)
Next take half the batch of pie dough on a floured surface...
... and roll it out into a 9x13 rectangle or as close as you  can get.
Don't worry if you have to cut pieces off and piece it in there cause no one will see this layer.

Now repeat the blackberry, sugar and butter layer on top of the pie dough using another 3/4 - 1 cup of Sugar and 1/2 stick of butter.

Then with the other half of the pie dough roll it out like you did the last one and place it on top. Don't worry about it being perfect the corners don't have to be perfectly square cause that's where all that gooey goodness will bubble up and out.

After you have placed it on the cobbler sprinkle with some sugar on top, but don't ask how much cause there is no perfect amount. As my mom would say enough but not too much!

Look at those layers, don't they look wonderful!!

Now place it in the oven and bake for 40-50 minutes at 400 degrees. Really you probably should have turned the oven on when you started, but I am the queen of forgetting to do this, and to tell ya the truth for this recipe it won't hurt it a bit if you do forget!

When it gets nice and golden on top it is done.
Doesn't it look so deliciously good!!!
Let it cool for about 10 minutes or so. It's best served with homemade ice cream. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!
Since I didn't any homemade ice cream I had to use the next best thing...
...just pour a little heavy whipping cream on it and enjoy!
