Who Can Guess?

Do you know what  these large piles on the edge of the field are?

Here's a closer look.

Now do you know?

Here's some hints...

My fiend Steph produces a product like this on her farm in Alabama.

Also we use this as a fertilizer.

Do you know yet? Well I'm not gonna tell you right now. So you will have to wait till tomorrow to find out the answer.

  1. That has got to be good ol' dry turkey manure --- bet it smells a bit like poop around there!

  3. Looks like chicken manure to me... when we spread that around here, folks (neighbors) get mean!

  4. Someone has cleaned a chicken house, ahhh, the brown gold of growing.

  5. Chicken litter! I can smell it thru the computer. My neighbor spreads it for others. He usually has big piles out in front. Love when the wind is blowing from the south and I get to smell it at my house!

  6. Definitely looks like chicken litter. I've cleaned out my fair share of coops. I'm going to guess that this is aged manure, though. Fresh chicken litter is some hot fertilizer! We like to use aged goat poop around here. I call it the black gold, it's brought more stuff back to life than I can count. Ha!

  7. It's chicken litter. It's good for the crops, but I know a lot of neighbors who don't like it.
